This stunning antique c.1900's ceramic sake jug features a beautifully hand-painted blue and white design with bold kanji characters, delicate cherry blossoms, and traditional Japanese motifs. The jug is modeled after woven straw-wrapped sake barrels and includes raised textured details on its sides. The central inscription, likely indicating a brewery name or brand, is framed by a stylized border with green and pink floral accents.

A spout hole at the base allowed this to be used as a dispensing vessel for sake or shochu. The lid is intact, making this a well-preserved example of early 20th-century Japanese ceramics. Perfect for collectors of antique Japanese pottery, sake ware, or decorative Asian ceramics.

It measures 14 1/2" tall and 12 1/2" in diameter. It is in very good vintage condition as shown, with age appropriate wear.
