Description
Exceptional pair of antique Meiji era (1868-1912) Japanese hand painted and gold gilded Satsuma handled vases! These are stunning pieces, very detailed and wonderfully textured with a nice large scale, everything you'd look for in a nice pair of Japanese ceramics!
They measure 18" tall and approx. 7" in diameter at their widest point.
Overall they are both in very good condition, with no chips or cracks to one, and the other having a chip on the underside of the top rim, as shown in the closeups of the last two photographs. Could be repaired as it's fully on the undecorated portion of the vase, or just left as-is since it really doesn't detract the eye at all.
