Vintage Argentor Vienna Silver Plate Cups and Saucers, Attributed to Josef Ofner

A beautifully crafted collection of silver-plated cups and saucers made in Austria by Argentor of Vienna, a celebrated producer of Jugendstil metalwork in the early 20th century. This set is attributed to Austrian designer Josef Ofner, known for his contributions to the Viennese Secessionist movement.

Dating to approximately 1905 to 1920, the set includes 14 delicately pierced silver-plated cup holders, 11 matching saucers, and 3 original glass inserts. Each saucer is stamped "Argentor" with the firm's hallmark, while the cups are embossed with "AS IG" or "AS.JG," likely referencing early production or workshop marks.

The silver-plated pieces have developed a rich antique patina, with tones ranging from soft pewter to deep gunmetal gray in recessed areas. The clear glass inserts contrast beautifully with the darker silver, emphasizing the architectural elegance and fine detailing.
