Absolutely fabulous vintage c.1950's oil on canvas painting depicting a lovely Japanese woman sitting on the floor with a traditional lantern and a cherry blossom tree. Shoji screens in the background and beautiful attention to detail make this a really special painting.

It is signed "W. Rieser" I believe on the lower left of the canvas, and on the back it has a stamp reading 'Victoria Maltuch". So this is actually a German painting, done of a Japanese scene.

It measures 20" tall by 28" wide, with a 16x24" canvas. It has age appropriate wear to the frame and painting, with no damage to note that I can see.
