Description
Striking antique cast iron parlor stove manufactured by Peninsular Stove Company, identified by multiple original cast marks including "Emerald Peninsular" and factory locations Detroit, Chicago, and Buffalo.
This substantial stove features highly ornate Victorian-era detailing throughout, including scrolling foliate relief, arched architectural forms, pierced grillwork doors, and a finial-topped crown. The front presents a dramatic multi-door configuration with integrated mesh panels, revealing the internal coal-burning chamber. The sculptural base rests on elegant curved legs, giving the piece a strong architectural presence even when displayed as a decorative object.
Originally designed as a coal-burning parlor stove, this example retains its original cast components and surface patina consistent with age and use. The finish shows expected wear, oxidation, and surface variation, contributing to its authentic antique character.
