Early 20th Century Chinese Gilt Baluster Floor Vase

Description

This substantial size floor vase showcases remarkable artistic skill, in its intricate use of gilt (gold) accents. Its dark "˜mirror black' black background is intricately adorned in hand painted designs. The interplay of gold with greens, blues and browns of birds and flowers creates a rich, almost three-dimensional effect, making the decorative elements dance around the vase's circumference. This vase maintains a sense of grandeur and balance, whether viewed from a distance or up close. Its measures 24" tall by 10" wide and is in great condition. Underneath the bottom it does have some spots of black paint missing from use.
