Superb example of 19th Century Meissen Porcelain. Bacchus and Attendants Figural Group modeled by Ernst August Leuteritz. The porcelain group depicts a youthful Bacchus, leopard skin draped across his lap, with a glass of wine raised above his head and a group of attendants, a semi-nude Bacchante, a baby satyr, and a putto. Bacchus, the god of wine, and his group of youthful revelers appear to be enjoying wine outside on an lovely day while engaged in a lively activity. The figures are painted with vibrant, rich colors with fine attention to detail in their clothing and facial features. An excellent example of Meissen skill and artistry.
Underside features crossed swords mark, incised ''C35X" and stamped ''57''.
