Mansion sized, Vintage Persian Kerman rug, made in Iran of 100% natural wool on a cotton foundation. This rug is 60+ years old, has full wool piles and is in excellent condition for its age. This rug has knots per square inch in excess of 200+ KPSI and is a monumental carpet measuring nearly 20 feet in length, designed for large-scale interiors where proportion and presence matter. The composition is anchored by a deep navy field, forming a dramatic visual “pool” that contrasts against an intricately detailed ivory floral border system. This balance between open space and dense ornamentation is a hallmark of Kerman weaving, creating a rug that reads as both architectural and refined. At the center, an elongated medallion introduces a vertical axis, reinforcing the rug’s suitability for formal rooms, galleries, and expansive living spaces. A woven Persian inscription is incorporated into the design at one end (see picture), adding an additional layer of traditional craftsmanship and visual interest.
