Description
A RARE Italian WWI-II FAB Model 1910 Glisenti 9mm Glisenti Semi Auto Pistol in good condition with a bright and defined bore that needs light cleaning. The action appears to function properly with some wear to the original finish and a cracked and unattached right grip panel. Very hard to find! The Glisenti Model 1910 was an Italian semi-automatic service pistol adopted by the Royal Italian Army before World War I. Designed by Bethel Abiel Revelli, it was intended to replace older Italian service revolvers such as the Bodeo Model 1889. The pistol fired the 9mm Glisenti cartridge, which looked similar to 9mm Luger/Parabellum but was loaded weaker due to the pistol’s relatively fragile locking system. The Glisenti saw service with Italian forces during World War I and continued in limited use into World War II. Although historically important as one of Italy’s early military semi-automatic pistols, it developed a reputation for being mechanically complicated and less durable than later designs. It was eventually replaced by stronger and more practical Beretta service pistols. Today, the Glisenti Model 1910 is collectible for its early Italian military history, unusual design, and association with both World Wars.
