The recumbent bird finely carved with a slender neck rising to a crested head, the wings and tail stylized with low-relief ridges, the body supported on short feet, the stone of mottled celadon tone with russet and buff inclusions and areas of surface alteration. Han Dynasty period.

Provenance: Important Private collection, Los Angeles ?Lot 2033-2034? Exhibited at the Corcoran Gallery of Art, July 1–August 31, 1993.
