A deer is also represented as well as a mug of beer accompanied by a pipe. A boat carrying barrels perhaps represents Portugal and its Porto. Jean Carlu was a French advertising designer and poster designer born in 1900 and died in 1997. In the 1920s and 1930s, Carlu became known for his dynamic and bold posters, characterized by geometric shapes and bright colors, typical of the style Art Deco. He is one of the famous poster artists of the Art Deco period alongside Cassandre, Paul Colin, Charles Loupot, etc. Air France was founded on October 7, 1933 by the merger of several French airlines: Air Orient, Air Union, Société Générale de Transports Aériens (SGTA), CIDNA and Aéropostale. From its beginnings, Air France has established routes connecting Paris to several international destinations, notably in Europe, North Africa and the Middle East. After World War II, the company modernized its fleet and expanded its services to intercontinental destinations, including North America, South America and Asia. In 1946, Air France inaugurated its first Paris-New York flight. In the 1950s and 1960s, the company introduced jet aircraft, such as the Boeing 707 and the Caravelle.
