1967 James Gibson Florida Highwayman At Dusk in the Swamp Painting on Upson Board. James Gibson (1938 - 2017) is an American landscape artist from Moore Haven, Florida and one of the original 26 Florida Highwaymen. This is a beautiful large sofa painting show the dusk skies of Florida in peach and blue, with water and swamp scene foliage & palms. . Signed on the bottom right by the artist "J Gibson" and dated '67. The painting and frame show it age but no damage to the actual art. The board is a rigid compressed board, an inexpensive material used for Highwaymen paintings. Measures H 27" x W 39.25 " and weighs approximately 7.5 lbs. Please refer to all photos.
