The letter, on mourning stationery, to J.H. Chilton Esq., in France, reads " I have been very much touched by your kindness in writing to me just now. It is a great alleviation of our personal sorrow to feel that it is shared by so many even in distant parts of the world who also mourn my father's loss", two pages, mid-horizontal folding mark, 8vo, Westbourne, 8 July 1914.
