Artist Gerald Scarfe is known well for his album cover artwork and animation for the 1979 Pink Floyd "The Wall" record and film. However in the mid-seventies his journey with the Floyd began when he collaborated with the band on films they would display on the large circular screen onstage for their "Wish You Were Here" tour. This commemorative poster lists the late 1974 winter tour of the UK in which the band first performed songs like “Shine On You Crazy Diamond” live along with a complete workout of Dark Side material during Set 2.
Scarfe’s drawing of the band members in nothing short of amazing and very reminiscent of the designs he produced 4 years later for “The Wall”. The right hand side of the poster lists the dates and venues of the tour and the artist exhibits his name and date at the bottom October 1974.
