A refined and finely proportioned ca. 1760 Wethersfield, CT Queen Anne two-part cherry highboy with pine secondary woods. The top section with an applied cornice molding over case drawers set with period brass, and the base section with fabulous carved aprons and fan carved drawer, on elegant cabriole legs. 69”H x 36.75”W x 19.5”D. This highboy relates in concept to the highboy in the Brooklyn Museum, illustrated in Connecticut Furniture - A reference recording the 1967 Wadsworth Atheneum exhibition, Plate #81. Provenance: Bernard & S. Dean Levy, Inc. NYC.
