A set of 26 pieces of Franciscan earthenware dinnerware in the Desert Rose pattern. The collection consists of ten dinner plates, eight saucers, and eight teacups. The pieces are decorated with hand-painted pink wild roses featuring yellow centers, green leaves, and brown woody vines. The vines form a continuous border around the scalloped, twig-like molded rims of the plates and saucers. The teacups feature handles molded and painted to resemble gnarled branches. The dinner plates bear a black printed mark on the base reading: AN AUTHENTIC HAND DECORATED CLASSIC over Franciscan in stylized script, followed by: DESIGNED TO BE SAFE IN YOUR DISHWASHER AND YOUR OVEN... MICROWAVE, TOO. MADE IN U.S.A. (c) INTERPACE 1977 DESERT ROSE. The saucers feature a circular green stamp reading Franciscan EARTHENWARE.
