The plates are done in a wonderful Imari Fan pattern, with intricate gilt scrollwork and fan designs in the colorful Imari palette. This iteration of the Imari palette is particularly striking, as it includes not just the classical cobalt blue and iron red, but a light green and even a peach pink color. The individual panels of the fan are nicely gilt with very fine designs, quite detailed and well done. This set is in excellent condition. The gilding and decoration is in great shape. There are no chips, no cracks, no breaks, and no repairs. Each plate has a Spode Copeland stamp, some also have the retail mark for T. Goode & Co of London. The plates measure about 10 3/8 inches in diameter.
