This is a 10-pc lot of original test equiplment owned and used by famed amp designer and builder Alexander Dumble in his amplifier building shop ("The Amp Lab" as he called it) Note: All pieces are "as found" in Dumble's residence, shop and/or storage and may be in non-working order and/or missing parts.
Alexander Dumble was known to extensively measure and test everything. Any component that went into one of his amplifiers went through meticulous and careful testing, checking and measurement.Values of any given make of electrical component be it a capacitor, resistor, potentiometer, tube, transformer or even wires are rated within a tolerance of the specs. These tolerance ranges mean that something rated at a specific specification may be 10 to over 20% above or below that rating/ specification. Dumble knew that these relatively small tolerance variations added up and kept vast collections of many amplifier building components, each single component hand-tested and often sorted and labeled with the exact number/ specification(s) it tested for. The test units in these lots are from Alexangers amp lab, residence and storage unit(s). These were the pieces of equipment used to test single components, engineer circuit designs and build amplifiers.
Largest item measures 18 x 9 x 13 inches. A list of dimensions of all items in this lot is available upon request.
