Browning & Co., Toledo, Ohio. Features an elaborate embossed and gilt-decorated leather binding with deeply molded cover panels, gilt page edges, decorative spine, chromolithograph presentation page, illuminated text pages, and numerous full-page engraved biblical illustrations throughout. A substantial and visually impressive example of Victorian religious publishing and decorative bookbinding.
Condition
Heavy wear to leather binding including rubbing, losses, edge wear, cracking, and scuffing. Interior generally clean with age toning and scattered foxing consistent with age. Binding intact with expected antique wear.
