Description
FARHOODI, Ali R. was a noted director and producer, developing numerous television programs while working for the Massachusetts Corporation for Educational Telecommunication (MCET). In 1999, he won an Emmy award for producing the MCET Mission Mars series. He received his undergraduate degree in broadcasting and film, and a doctorate in media and television from Boston University. He was a project director at WGBH in Boston, and taught media and television courses at Boston University and the University of Massachusetts. At the time of his death, he was an adjunct faculty member at the New England Institute of Art, teaching courses in video production, photography and cinematography. He was a fine-arts photographer for much of his adult life, with many single and group exhibitions in Boston, Los Angeles and Toronto. Originally from Iran, he was the son of Ésmaeel Farhoodi and the late Fatemeh Jampour. He had been a resident of Brookline since 2010.
