a wonderful antique French bronze by sculptor Henri Pernot, “Le Grande Soeur” or “The Older Sister.” The sculpture depicts a little boy being embraced and kissed on the cheek by his older. This piece is extraordinarily well cast by a renowned Paris foundry, Thiebaut Freres, and as such is quite detailed and lifelike. The bronze has a beautiful rich dark patina, very stately and appealing. The sculpture has a nice wood base with an applied tongue-and-dart border.This bronze measures about 15 inches tall and has a footprint of about 18 x 11.5 inches.
