Fritz Bartenstein Two Face Antique primitive Wax Doll has 2 strings to pull one for white face one for the black face.This very rare antique, manufactured, two-face WAX doll with composition, molded shoulderplate was produced in 1895 and shortly thereafter and measures 16 1/2 inches long. Both her perfectly molded wax heads are each concealed beneath her papier-mache are operated by pulling on the (connected to the side of her body) pull string which rotates the head.
Each beautiful face has a different expression closed mouth with lovely brown glass eyes, Her cloth covered, carton body has composition arms and legs (need to be stitched tighter at the shoulders) AND she has her original NON - ,WORKING CRY BOX the attached pull-strings with connected glass beads. She wears an antique white, cotton trimmed baby gown, dress and skirt and lace bonnet.There is some tape around legs to prevent saw dust from leaking, some paint has rubbed off of tip of nose.repainted arms and legs.
