Description
An antique walking cane featuring a multi-segment shaft constructed from alternating sections of carved bone. The handle consists of a bulbous pommel intricately carved with scrolling foliate and cross-hatched motifs. This decorative carving extends onto the uppermost section of the shaft. The shaft is composed of thirteen visible segments separated by turned collars of varying widths and tones. The cane terminates in a metal ferrule at the base. The style and construction are characteristic of 19th to early 20th-century decorative walking canes.
