This commemorative issue was printed in 1997. The Straight was home to many of the great acts of the day. Its history is rich and interesting. This original MC5 poster was designed by the legendary Detroit artist Gary Grimshaw. Known mainly for the many posters and handbills he produced for the Grande Ballroom, this is an image he created to advertise a show in San Francisco. The bright and colorful artwork features the logo of the Michigan-based White Panther Party
