Ruby Zoisite, or Anyolite, is a metamorphic rock from Tanzania combining green zoisite, black pargasite, and red ruby. It is popular for ornamental carvings and jewelry due to its vibrant, mottled color contrast, often thought to balance energy and promote passion in metaphysical uses. It has a Mohs hardness of 6.5-7, should be cleaned without harsh chemicals so that the ruby and zoisite do not deteriorate at different rates, and is sometimes known as watermelon crystal in various markets due to the blend of red, green, and black coloration present.
