A vintage photograph of Romanian concert musician George Enescu (1881-1955), signed, inscribed, and dated by him along the right edge along a vertical orientation as: "Pour Mademoiselle Synayto [?], respectuesement / Georges Enesco 1933." The gelatin silver print is sepia-colored and matte, and shows a closely cropped view of Enescu's head in profile facing right. Expected wear including isolated wrinkles and ink impressions. Minor silvering. The left-side photo corners are slightly cropped. Glue residue and mounting traces visible verso. Else very good to near fine. 7.625" x 9.5."

George Enescu was a brilliant violinist, pianist, composer, and conductor. In 1933, when he autographed this photograph, he began composing his Piano Sonata No. 3 in D Major, Op. 24, No. 3; he finished the 3-movement sonata two years later, in 1935.
