Original 1951 airmail envelope signed and addressed entirely in the hand of Stan Laurel. The envelope is addressed to “Booth Colman Esq., ‘The Lambs Club,’ 130 W. 44th St., New York 18, U.S.A.,” with the sender’s return address, also handwritten by Laurel, appearing in the upper left corner as “Stan Laurel, Hotel d'Iéna, Ave. d'Iéna, Paris, France.” The envelope bears French postage stamps along with multiple clear postal cancellations dated March 1951, and includes a red “Via Air Mail / Par Avion” label, indicating international airmail delivery from Paris to New York. Laurel’s signature is present in the form of his handwritten return address, a common and accepted format for signed envelopes of the period. In fine condition, encapsulated to an overall size of 6.5” x 10”.

Stan Laurel (1890-1965), one half of the iconic comedy duo Laurel and Hardy, was among the most influential figures in early film comedy. By 1951, Laurel had largely retired from filmmaking but remained active in personal correspondence, often replying to fans and colleagues.
