A 1950 first edition copy of "Ted Williams: A Biography of The Kid" by Arthur Sampson, signed by Ted Williams and author Arthur Sampson on the fly leaf. 180pp, 5.75" x 8.25", New York: A.S. Barnes and Company. Original dust jacket is included but shows wear and tearing along edges and at folds, signed fly leaf page has uneven toning not impacting the signatures, nicely signed.

Ted Williams, nicknamed “The Splendid Splinter” played his entire MLB career (1939-1960) with the Boston Red Sox and is widely regarded as one of the most technically gifted hitters to ever play the game. He remains the last player to hit over .400 in a season (.406 in 1941) and was a two-time MVP and six-time batting champion. Williams also served in both World War II and the Korean War as a Marine Corps pilot, interrupting his career during his prime years. He was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1966.
