Description

This large-scale decorative floor sculpture features a silver-toned eagle with its wings outspread, perched atop a textured, rocky outcropping. The eagle is rendered with meticulous detail, showing individual feathers and a high-polish, reflective finish. Based on visual consensus from historical auction records for identical models, this work is attributed to A. Giannelli (Italian, b. 1907) and is likely constructed of a sterling silver-plated or sterling-clad material over a cast core. The eagle and its rocky base rest upon a separate fluted column pedestal with a contrasting brass or gold-toned metallic finish. The pedestal features a square base decorated with etched geometric starburst motifs.
