Description
This lot comprises two vintage ceramic kitchenware sets from the mid-20th century, both presented in wall-mounted wooden racks. The first set consists of nine white glazed earthenware spice jars. Each jar is rectangular in form and features a relief-molded knob shaped like a strawberry or acorn, hand-painted in red and yellow with green leaves. The jars are labeled with serif transfer-printed text for Allspice, Bayleaves, Cloves, Ginger, Garlic, Nutmeg, Paprika, Sage, and Thyme. The second set is a five-piece group of dark brown glazed earthenware with high-relief rooster motifs. This collection includes two larger handled cruets and three smaller jars labeled Pepper, Mustard, and Salt. The roosters on the smaller jars feature multi-colored cold-painted accents in red, yellow, white, and green. Both sets are characteristic of mid-century Japanese imports produced for the US market. No maker's marks are visible on the exteriors.
