A mid-century ceramic bud vase or small planter manufactured by Treasure Craft of South Gate, California. The piece features a stylized pixie or woodland sprite figure seated upon a tree stump. The figure is depicted wearing leaf-patterned clothing and a pointed leaf-form hat. The tree stump is hollowed out to serve as a small vessel. The main body of the sprite and the tree stump are finished in a high-gloss dark green glaze, while the face is unglazed bisque with hand-painted eyes and mouth. The underside of the base retains an original rectangular paper label with red text that reads Copyright, Treasure Craft, South Gate, Calif. Height: 4 inches. The item is in good vintage condition. There is visible minor chipping and paint loss on the unglazed bisque face, specifically on the tip of the nose and the right cheek area. Occasional small fleabite chips are present on the raised leaf-form edges of the sprite's clothing. No significant cracks or major repairs are noted. Overall surface wear is consistent with age and use.
