Description
This is a vintage handmade patchwork scrap quilt, likely dating to the late 20th century. The piece features a central field of square patches, machine-pieced in a grid arrangement. The patches consist of assorted cotton and cotton-blend fabrics in diverse patterns, including floral calicos, solids, stripes, ginghams, and novelty prints depicting birdhouses, teapots, and patriotic motifs. The central patchwork area is framed by a wide border made of black fabric with a repeating pink and blue floral sprig pattern. This same floral fabric is used for the reverse side of the quilt. The outer perimeter is finished with two tiers of off-white crocheted or machine-made lace trim. No manufacturer or maker labels were identified. Dimensions: 100 inches x 106 inches The quilt is in good used condition overall with light to moderate wear consistent with age. Some loose threads and minor fraying are visible at several seam intersections on the patchwork face. The lace trim shows minor ruffling and unevenness from use and washing. No significant staining, large tears, or heavy fading were observed.
