Carved Bone Walking Cane

Description

This item is a sailor-made walking cane featuring a carved bone handle and metal end. The construction features a multi-segmented upper shaft with various decorative styles including turned rings, a cross-hatched geometric pattern, and a long spiral-twisted segment. The lower portion of the shaft is smooth and tapers toward the tip. The base is fitted with a brass ferrule, and a small hole near the finial indicates where a wrist strap was once attached. The handle consists of a smooth bulbous finial.
