Antique 19th Century French Empire Bronze Lion Paw Candelabras

Exquisite pair of antique candelabra in bronze & gilt bronze in a French Empire style. French Empire style candelabras are defined by their monumental, robust forms and rich decoration inspired by ancient Roman and Egyptian architecture. They typically feature opulent materials such as gilded bronze, symmetrical compositions, and elements like flame finials, lion paws, scrolling arms, and tiered bases, reflecting a grandeur and sophisticated elegance from the Napoleonic era and the Second Empire.

These candelabra tick all the boxes, with scrolled foliate arms, gilding, a central flame finial, & lion paws on the bases. Each candelabra hold 3 candles. They measure 25" high and 12" wide and weigh a total of 23 lbs. Excellent condition, no damage.
