Lifer, the artistic name of Luis Fernando Castro Karg, is a Mexican painter from Guadalajara, Jalisco, known for his expressive, abstract style influenced by artists such as Picasso, Antonio Saura, and the CoBrA movement. Originally trained in industrial, graphic, and editorial design, he began painting at a young age and later studied under artists Gustavo Aranguren, Ramiro Torreblanca, and Cornelio García. His work is characterized by bold color, layered textures, energetic brushwork, and emotionally charged imagery.

Among his distinctions, Lifer received a special mention in the Hermès tie design competition in Paris.

Lifer’s work has been exhibited in numerous galleries and cultural venues in Mexico and the United States, including Galería Jorge Álvarez and Galería Vértice in Guadalajara, Galería Mónica Saucedo in Colima, Nina Torres Fine Art in Miami, and Galería Arte Contemporáneo in San Miguel de Allende, where he has exhibited since 2016.
