Inge Maxeiner (sometimes listed as Inge Max), she is a German painter born in Düsseldorf and based in Cologne. She studied painting at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf (Münster department) under artists including Fujio Akai, Ulrike Rosenbach, Hermann Josef Kuhna, and Norbert Tadeusz. Her work has been shaped by international study trips to locations such as Rome, Kenya, Tanzania, Costa Rica, and Iceland, with recurring themes that include portraiture, landscapes, cultural observations, and human figures.
Throughout her career, Maxeiner has presented numerous solo exhibitions, including Menschen im Wasser (1987) in Münster, Afrikanische Portraits (1997) in Cologne, Menschenbilder (1998) in Düsseldorf, Tango (2001) in Aachen-Kornelimünster, Totensonntag (2002) in Cologne, Landschaften (2005) in Cologne, Karneval (2007) in Cologne, and Island (2009) in Cologne. She has also participated in group exhibitions such as the Gerresheimer Kunstausstellung in Düsseldorf, Brust, Lust, Frust at the Women’s Museum in Bonn and later in Berlin, Karneval in Köln, and Bombe at Galerie Plan B in Düsseldorf.
