Japanese-born artist Shingo Oe (b. 1978) is a painter, installation artist, and performance artist who lives and works in Spain. His practice combines Japanese aesthetic traditions with influences from Spanish modern masters such as Antoni Tàpies and Joan Miró. Known for his abstract and minimalist approach, Oe explores invisible natural forces and spiritual concepts through expressive gestures, often using his own body as part of the painting process. His work seeks to give form to intangible elements such as wind, energy, and the relationship between the visible and invisible worlds.
Oe has exhibited internationally in galleries and art fairs across Europe and the United States. Notable venues and events include exhibitions at the Nina Torres Fine Art gallery in Miami, Studio 26 in New York, Articblue Gallery in Ibiza, the Monaco Art Fair, the Miami River Art Fair, and the Salon of the Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts in Paris. A significant solo exhibition, Camino al 0 / Mu e no michi (“Path to Zero”), was presented in Barcelona in 2014 and showcased works centered on the origins of minimalism and the concept of “Mu” (emptiness).
