A large terracotta head modeled in reddish-brown earthenware, with strongly stylized facial features including deeply set almond-shaped eyes with pierced pupils, a projecting nose, full lips, and a short striated beard. The head is further distinguished by a raised central crest or coiffure running across the crown, with pendant side locks or hair ornaments modeled along the sides. The surface shows a coarse granular texture with mineral accretions and weathered patination throughout.

Nok terracottas represent one of the earliest known sculptural traditions of sub-Saharan Africa, noted for their expressive abstraction, elaborate coiffures, pierced eyes, and highly individualized facial types. The large scale of this head, combined with the preserved facial modeling and coiffure details, makes it a notably strong example if confirmed ancient.
