Probably Southeast Asia or the Pacific, 20th century.

Carved coconut shell vessel of rounded form, incised on one side with a stylized face framed by curvilinear motifs and spiral devices. The compact globular shape and lightly worn surface give the piece a strong folk character, while the expressive carved features add decorative appeal. An unusual small ethnographic object, likely intended for use as a container or ceremonial vessel.
