Entry size Greek warrior knob dating from the late 1860s or early 70s...these knobs were cast in lead and then heavily copper plated...note the sold bronze footed fitting at the bottom of the shank. inserted so that the iron spindle would not wear down the soft metal...these are some of the earliest American decorative doorknobs...
