Description
This offering features an intriguing trio of Native American style artifacts, including a 19-inch steel trade-axe style tomahawk featuring an 8-inch blade with a 3.5-inch cutting edge and an incised geometric maker's mark, a 13.75-inch carved bone hide scraper measuring 1.75 inches in diameter with a 5.25-inch scraper head accented with multi-colored pigment and brass tacks and a small 9-inch hide-wrapped stone club remnant with a 2.5-inch thickness and a 3.5-inch stone face diameter. The pieces reflect classic Great Plains and Eastern Woodlands utilitarian forms, featuring traditional construction styles utilizing wood, bone, forged iron, and animal hide. The items are in aged, vintage condition; the tomahawk blade shows heavy surface oxidation and rust pitting with a weathered wooden handle, the bone scraper exhibits minor paint wear and tarnishing to the metal tacks, and the hide-wrapped club shows significant dry rot, tearing, and material loss to the leather casing. H 19", W 8", D 3.5". Please see photos for condition.
