Description
A Seeburg Consolette Type SC-1 jukebox wallbox remote selector unit manufactured by The Seeburg Corporation of Chicago, Illinois. This mid-century device was designed for mounting at diner tables or booths to remotely select music from a central jukebox. The unit features a chrome-plated metal housing with integrated stereo speakers located behind silver-toned mesh grilles. The central control panel includes three volume selection buttons labeled LOW, MED, and HIGH, situated above graphics reading MAKE SELECTION TO HEAR stereo speakers with an orange stylized logo. Below the speaker graphics is an alphanumeric keypad for song selection, consisting of two rows of letters and one row of numbers. The upper section contains a flip-page mechanism for music title strips, operated by large chrome knobs on either side of the chassis. Markings on the lower chassis identify the unit as TYPE SC1, 2.5 AMPS. MAX., 24 VOLTS, 60 CYCLES. Additional branding includes stylized script reading SEEBURG CONSOLETTE and gold-toned side labels reading STEREO CONSOLETTE. A hand-written label under glass at the top indicates 2 Plays / 1 Quarter. The reverse of the unit retains an original paper warning label regarding mounting instructions. A single metal key is present in the side lock.
