The Snap-On Professional 3/8" Cordless Drill screen-used by Peter Weller as RoboCop to remove his helmet in the action/sci-fi classic RoboCop (Orion, 1987).
Model No. ET1100-1, Type 1, 7.2V, DC 600 RPM. Together with a black plastic Snap-On carrying case with two additional batteries and a non-screen-used drill bit.
Accompanied by a letter of authenticity signed by the film's producer, Arne Schmidt, that states:
"In 1986 and 1987, I was hired as the producer on the original RoboCop film. I was involved throughout pre-production, production, and the first two weeks of wrap. During filming, I was on set for a key scene in which Peter Well, portraying RoboCop, had been severely damaged and used a Snap-On drill to remove his helmet. This moment marked the first time the audience saw what was beneath the helmet. After principal photography was completed, it was customary at the time to collect the props, wardrobe, and set dressing and offer them to the crew for purchase. I chose to buy the drill as a memento of the intense experience of making RoboCop. It marked my first producing role after a decade working in various film production positions."
