An original revised seventh draft script from the production of Gremlins (Warner Bros., 1984) by Chris Columbus, bound with brads, printed on blue, white, and pink revision pages, and dated February 28, 1983. "GREM00018" is stamped in red ink on each page.
The script includes several scenes cut from the final theatrical version of the film which were present in Joe Dante's famous "first assembly cut." The cut runs two hours and 54 minutes and was recently screened for a small group of industry insiders in Los Angeles, including the writers of the upcoming Gremlins 3. These scenes include an extended opening in which the town priest sends out Christmas cards and Billy (Zach Galligan) rescues Mrs. Deagle's (Polly Holiday) cat; an extended scene showing the Gremlins entrapping and tying up Billy's dog Barney; Mrs. Deagle revealing her plans to foreclose on the houses of everyone in the town; and Billy and Kate finding Gerald (Judge Reinhold) trapped in a bank vault.
