Description
This 19th-century hand-colored engraving, titled Morning. Going to Cover., was originally painted by Edward Algernon Stuart Douglas in 1877 and expertly engraved by Edward Gilbert Hester. Published on October 1st, 1877, the classic equestrian scene depicts a huntsman on horseback accompanied by hunting dogs, with a second rider visible in the background along a path bordered by mature trees and a rustic wooden fence. Signed in the plate "E.A.S. Douglas 1877," the artwork is housed in a traditional gilt frame with a warm brown mat, making it an excellent addition to a library, study, or traditional gallery wall. Measuring approximately 35 3/4" H x 30 1/2" W, Good condition with a light amount of discoloration consistent with its age.
