Description
Striking pair of pressed glass compote covers (or cheese dish lids), dating to circa 1930, beautifully captures the nostalgia and pioneering spirit of the historic 19th-century frontier motif, as successfully revived by the L.G. Wright Glass Company. Each lid is topped by the pattern's iconic figural Native American finial, which functions as a dramatic sculptural handle rising above a detailed panoramic relief depicting a running stag, dense forest, pioneer log cabin, and a roaming buffalo. One cover measures approximately 6 in. H x 5 3/4 in. in diameter, and the pair is presented in overall good vintage condition, beautifully preserving the crispness of its molded imagery with only one minor, isolated chip to the interior rim.
