A tricolor coverlet in red, white, and blue with a floral border, grid-like pattern to center with flowers, and signed "JOHN CLARK" at corners. 74"l. 88"w. Together with two blue and white summer-winter coverlets; one with a floral border and a central cartouche of flowers surrounded by flower baskets, fruits, and foliage, 70"l. 90"w., and the second with a schoolhouse corner block dated "1824", floral border, and a field filled with geometric grids with flowers, 82"l. 92"w. Provenance: From the Lifetime Collection of Charles and Margaret Gibbs (Salem, Ohio).
