Partly-printed broadsheet, 2pp. legal folio, County of Dewitt, Sept. 1873, a petition made by citizens of Dewitt County to the County Court who are ‘…desirous of a removal of the seat of Justice from Clinton in the town of Cuero, in said county…in order that an election may be ordered in accordance with the statute in such case provided…’. Beneath, 19 petitioners sign. According to our consignor, this document is the earliest printing for Dewitt County. Light staining to top edge, else very good.
