This US Mint proof set contains six coins struck at the San Francisco Mint, each bearing the S mint mark and dated 1981. The set comprises a Lincoln cent (95 percent copper, 5 percent zinc), a Jefferson nickel (75 percent copper, 25 percent nickel), and a Roosevelt dime, Washington quarter, Kennedy half dollar, and Susan B. Anthony dollar, all of which are copper-nickel clad. The coins are proof strikes, featuring frosted cameo devices set against mirrored, highly polished fields. The 1981 Susan B. Anthony dollar was not released for general circulation and was only produced for numismatic sets. The set is housed in its original government packaging, which consists of a clear plastic protective holder with a red internal insert and a black plastic base. The base is embossed with silver-toned lettering reading UNITED STATES PROOF SET, and the red insert is faintly marked PACKAGED BY U.S. MINT. The reverse of the case is black and displays a silver-toned emblem of the Great Seal of the US. Pickup is Friday, July 31, from Noon to 7 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH.
