Description: American Rococo Revival mahogany and marble-top table, circa 1850-1870, later reduced in height. The shaped white marble slab has a molded serpentine edge above a deep conforming apron veneered in figured mahogany and interrupted by carved floral corner blocks. Four shaped supports are joined by carved foliate stretchers centered by a turned urn-form finial. The present 19-inch height indicates that the original full-height center or parlor table was subsequently altered for use as a coffee table.

Marble exhibits a large prominent stain, scratches, discoloration, edge wear, and a visible chip or loss along the molded edge. Figured apron veneer has cracking, lifting, blistering, losses, old infill, and finish deterioration. Scattered scratches, abrasions, joint movement, and old repairs are present throughout the base. Table has been reduced from its original height and reconfigured as a low table.
